Middle East Aluminium Summit – Focused On The Downstream Industry

Due to their rich oil and gas resources and access to cost effective labour, the GCC countries have an advantage in manufacturing sectors that require high energy consumption. One of these industries is aluminium, where the region leads global growth and has exceeded 5 million tonnes of annual production in 2016. The Middle East is also conveniently located to serve the developing markets of Africa, South Asia and CIS countries. As the GCC scales up its primary aluminium production and logistics capabilities to handle primary production from neighbouring markets, downstream production across the Middle East is expected to benefit for products such as castings, secondary billets, sheets, foils and extrusions. With this background, the 3-day Middle East Aluminium Summit is being organized concurrently with the region’s largest aluminium industry event, Aluminium Middle East to discuss topics of interest for the downstream aluminium manufacturing and consumption sectors. The event will start with keynote address, followed by interactive panel discussions and workshops on the last day. The following subjects will be covered at length:

  • Foundry: casting
  • Rolling:  sheet and foil
  • Extrusion & drawing: sections, tubes & other processes and products
